우림집 is a very well-known BBQ joint right off of Mapo Station…well-kwown to those that live or work in the area. I had never heard of it. It’s a BBQ joint that sells pork and beef but apparently the marinated pork ribs are what they are known for since it follows their name on the neon sign above the canopy.

It seems to have been around for awhile. Sign on the sticker at the bottom of the door says over 30 years old.

The banchan was fresh and delicious. They even had the spicy marinated raw crab as a side dish as well. We obviously ordered the 되지갈비 – marinated pork ribs. It was good. They bring out a 된장찌개 – soybean jjigae. Rice has to be ordered separately. They don’t have a full post-meat meal course. At the end after you have finished grilling, they give you noodles in a cold kimchi liquid (동치미) broth.

SFP will be back to try the beef ribs.

The spicy marinated crab banchan
This is offered to everybody at the end of the meal. It’s noodles in a ice cold kimchi liquid (동치미) broth. It’s refreshing.
Desert drink. Sweet rice drink
