살롱드쥬 – Salon de Joo

Came here Friday cause Chef Emilio Broso recently procured fresh zucchini flowers otherwise known as squash blossoms. It’s a seasonal item. He deep fries it with ricotta cheese inside. Our first time trying it. Delicious. If you go now, it may not be available anymore.

Had the truffle pasta. Cleaned the plate with the focaccia bread. The pizza that we had was an off-the-menu item. It was the Emillo’s Special – salami, mushroom and Gorgonzola cheese on a base of margherita pizza. Delizioso!

This Italian-Sicilian eatery is right off Olympic Park in Songpa-Gu. If you’re in the area, you’ve got to check it out. It’s one of SFP’s favorite Italian restaurants in Seoul.

So delicious
The fried zucchini flowers were on top of caponata which is a Sicilian dish consisting of eggplant, onions, tomatoes, anchovies, olives and vinegar cooked together in olive oil. Chef Emillo has absolutely improved the taste. Less sweet and more acidic.

Dessert of the day – Panna Cotta. Chef Emilio’s dessert of the day changes frequently. You’ve always got to save room for his desserts.
