니꾸바시야 – Nikubar Shiya (Songpa Gu – Bangi Dong)
This is an omakase bar for meat lovers?. KRW 59,000 ($50) for an assortment of Hanwoo beef where you are given tongs and cook it at your table on the hot charcoal pit. The omakase restaurant is small – about 10 counter seats. Each charcoal pit is designed for 2 people – i.e., you can’t or shouldn’t go there with an odd number of people.
The meal started off with nankotsu – fried chicken cartilage? – and then to the meats. You are given a bowl of ox tail soup. The broth is so rich and tasty and the meat literally falls off the bone. One of the first meats to be cooked was cow tongue. First time having it. Not bad. The white cylindrical item is the cow’s large intestine. At the end of the omakase, you are given Japanese curry with rice?. Delicious!
