Seongsu Dong – Jafa Brewery ๐Ÿป opened up shop in late 2019 but decided to open up an authentic Indian ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ restaurant on its brewing premises in early 2020. Jay Jafa, the owner, brought over Chef Manpreet from New Delhi, to impart his excellent culinary skills and knowledge over to Seoul. Oh man. We’ve got a winner. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

I would argue that Indica is Seoul’s top, number one Indian restaurant in Seoul. Nothing is sacrificed in terms of authenticity. There is no localizing the Indian cuisine (i.e., making it sweeter). You will experience tastes and flavors like you have never tried before. All of the dishes are excellent but the signature dish has to be be biryani. It has over 18+ of authentic spices and it takes over 8 hours to prepare.

This place is a MUST try if you love Indian food.

The restaurant is small. Fits maybe 14 customers max.
The restaurant is located in this complex.
There is no valet parking. You will have to find parking on the street.

The current menu
The Papad – It’s a beer snack. It’s like the Indian version of potato chips. Strong cumin flavors and taste.
The Papad ordered on another night.
Mathri – Another delicious Indian beer snack. Look at all those chutneys to dip the cracker in. This needs to back on the menu soon, like yesterday.

The signature biryani. Must order.

Tawa Mutton – Delicious lamb chunks that come together with naan
In addition to the Tandoor Chicken, there is the Kali Merch Chicken ๐Ÿ“and Lehsuni Chicken ๐Ÿ”
Kali Merch – Black Pepper + Yogurt. This has to be one of my favorites.
Lehsuni Chicken – Yogurt Cram Sauce

Real Basmati Rice with lots of ghee
Garlic or butter naan. What else can you say. It’s authentic and delicious. It’s cooked in the tandoor in the kitchen
