Highlights: The Iberico pork, sausage, 전병 and the buckwheat noodles with sesame oil.
Lowlights: Nothing really.
Bottom Line: When you’re in the mood for pork BBQ, this is the place to go.
This popular restaurant is located in Yeoksam, in the heart of Gangnam district. It specializes in Iberico Pork from Spain. The cut is from the neck. It is well marbled and if you didn’t know better, you would think that what you see is a cut of steak. It’s that good. Order the 전변 as well (it’s like a enchilada that is stuffed with grilled kimchi) and you must save room for the buckwheat noodles at the end.
They also serve handmade sausages as well. You must order the sausages along with the Iberico pork.
The side dish refills are self-service. The side dish refill bar is near the entrance.
There is a cilantro sauce that is provided. Eat the cilantro sauce with the pork. This is not available at the self-service bar. You will have to ask for it.
When you order the buckwheat noodle, you can have one of three ways – (1) in sesame oil (2) cold water kimchi broth (3) spicy gochujang paste. Strongly recommend the sesame oil. Just ask for the noodles with 듷기름.
When you’re in Seoul, you can pretty much go to any samgyubsal (the 3-layered bacon) BBQ and have a good dining experience. What differentiates a lot of the samgyubsal places are the side dishes and the rice/noodle finishers. But if you want the Iberico cut, you should come here. They do it right.
