갓포치유 (Dosan Park) – My super favorite izakaya is Kappo Akii in Dosan Park but you can’t go to the same place all the time. Kappo Chiyu appeared on Episode #130 (August 23, 2017) of 수요미식회 – Wednesday Night Foodie Roundtable dealing with the topic of good restaurants that have great side dishes that go along with beer. Hmm, interesting accolade.

All in all, it was a solid dining experience. I have tried the course meal there before and would recommend that you do not order the course meal and stick with the a la carte menu items.

Naver Info

Starter dish – The Japanese version of the amuse-bouche
Fried oysters. It’s in season but not for long.
Hanwoo beef, uni (sea urchin), cheese and slices of eggplant
Tuna with avocado on top of the slimy Japanese mountain yam (마 or ‘ma’)
Abalone pasta. The sauce is the abalone intestines of course.
The grilled geumtae fish. It was good but not as food as if they grilled the whole fish like they do traditionally at other izakayas…[AHEM] Kappo Akii.
The futomaki roll was solid. Must order item of course.
I alway enjoy the end pieces of the futomaki rolls.
Korean flat fish sashimi (광어) with sea cucumber intestines (go-no wada).
